What the kids will be doing?

From painting and drawing to paper crafts and sculpture, children will have the opportunity to learn various artistic techniques and express themselves through different mediums. Each week the children will tackle a new area of art and over the weeks will unleash their inner Picasso.

about

me

Hello I'm Diane Jones, an artist who's incredibly passionate about the benefits of art for both young and old. I have a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art from IADT. I’ve studied Montessori and worked in child care for many years. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with both children, and older adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, and it has been an immensely rewarding experience.

In my Saturday morning classes my vision is to create an environment where children will not only have FUN and make new friends but will get to express themselves artistically and discover their own unique talents. I firmly believe in the power of art and how it enhances and nurtures a child’s mental and physical development. By nurturing their creative abilities, I aim to help and teach them skills to grow and develop into confident individuals. I believe I can create a space where young minds will thrive, and artistic expression will become a pathway to self-discovery and shared experiences.

I believe that the process of making art is more important than the end result. There is no right or wrong way of doing art. All children I believe are artistic but art classes teach them to observe, experiment, be innovative and collaborate with others.

Indulging in Art Activities helps children to:-

• Develop fine motor skills, enhance dexterity and improve hand-eye coordination.

• It boosts confidence, encourages self-expression, and promotes interaction with others.

• It helps with math, literacy skills and language skills.

• It encourages creative thinking.

• It helps enhance visual learning, boosts memory power and improves decision-making skills.

• It boosts concentration and builds up critical thinking skills.

• It improves well-being and encourages relaxation.

• It reduces stress and anxiety.

• It helps them to learn to share, be patient, and to accept constructive criticism.
